Current Duke students are invited to join our first Power Lunch of the fall 2025 semester featuring Maya Whalen-Kipp, Network Manager at Coalition for Green Capital, with discussion to follow. Lunch will be provided; advance registration is required. Event capacity will be limited so that all attendees have the chance to introduce themselves, ask questions, and exchange ideas.

SPEAKER BIO

Maya Whalen-Kipp is a clean energy policy and finance professional with more than a decade of experience advancing sustainability, energy equity, and stakeholder engagement. She is the network manager at the Coalition for Green Capital, where she leads the growth and capacity development of the American Green Bank Network, working toward the goal of a green bank in every U.S. state to expand clean energy finance access for all communities.

Maya began her clean energy career in New York City’s innovation start-up sector before joining the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, where she developed equity-focused strategies in workforce development and the commercialization of offshore wind and ocean technologies.

She holds an M.S. in environmental policy from Bard College and is a Clean Energy Leadership Institute alumna, Knauss Marine Policy Fellow, and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
