Power to Peer: Networking networks for maximum impact
Fri 28 October 2016, 11:00 – 14:30 BST
Today's event is focussed on the leverage potential of networks of networks. It is an Open Space event, designed for purpose-driven leaders to self organise efficiently and produce practical action.
Our purpose in coming together will be to promote opportunities, understanding and skills for collaboration, co-operation and partnership. We will create or strengthen connections between those in the Manchester area who wish to 'make the world a better place'.
Your facilitator, Mike Zeidler has over 30 years of hands-on experience in creating, coordinating and managing communities of interest. He is co-founder of the Happy City Initiative, the Association of Sustainability Practitioners and the FunkySpaces Group.
Bearing in mind Einstein's observation that you can't solve a problem with the mindset that created it, Mike will first present a new way of understanding networks designed to sharpen focus on shared purpose and increase our chances of working better together for greater impact.
Once everyone is in the mood for a bit of radical thinking, we will go into Open Space. Participants will be invited to give from the richness of their own experiences, and gain from the breadth and depth of others. You will be able to have whatever conversations are most important to you at the time.
Outcomes of events shaped by participants like this usually include things like:
- Increased energy and activity in 'making a difference'
- Enriched learning and more insightful planning
- More partnership working
- Improved skills for collaboration and leadership
We've kept costs as low as possible (mainly trying to avoid a loss) which is why you've got catered and non-catered ticket options. Please note the venue is vegitarian. If you plan to BYO packed lunch (including plates/cups/cutlery), they'd much prefer you NOT to bring any meat.
