About this event
------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: WoRDs Power Tools Skills Builder Masterclass is a course for folks who have attended a WoRD Introductory Session, or who have experience using tools.
If you are a complete beginner woodworker, please do not book this course.
Our Intro Sessions will get you started on your woodworking journey, so if you haven't yet attended one of these, please book onto an Intro Session first!
We also recommend attending a Pallet-to-Project session before this, but it is not essential.
Check our event page for the next sessions and sign up there!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come along to the Woodshop of Recycled Delights' Power Tools Skills Builder Masterclass Workshop where you will learn how to safely use more advanced power tools!
We'll take you through:
- Drill + Impact Driver
- Power Saws like the Skill Saw and Jigsaw
- Orbital Sander
- Router
- Angle Grinder
- Nailer
In this workshop, you'll learn how to use these safely and get plenty of hands-on time practising!
The focus of this workshop is growing competence and confidence with these power tools. On the day there will be stations to target your practice, and a workshop project for practical application.
We're passionate about supporting people to make whatever they want out of reclaimed material, and the possibilities are truly endless.
We take a co-learning approach, so whilst our facilitators are experienced, they are not experts. Together we can work out how to make or fix things using reclaimed materials.

Our Ticket System:
WoRD delivers accessible woodworking workshops to people traditionally excluded from carpentry spaces and those who face barriers to access.
We are committed to delivering accessible woodworking workshops to everyone, regardless of what they can afford.
To do this, we have sliding-scale tickets to make sure everyone can join in.
Where your ticket fee goes:
We pay all our team fair rates, and contribute to the venues that host us. Our workshops cost over £900 to run. Your ticket goes towards covering the costs of sessions and funding future workshops, meaning we can keep local people employed, rescue more timber from waste, and offer skill sharing to as many people as possible.
If you can afford to, please purchase a ticket according to our sliding scale:
£60 - a subsidised place, made possible through donations and grant funding
£85 - covers the cost of your attendance
£120 - covers the cost of your attendance, and part of someone else’s
FREE PLACE - We reserve a number of accessible places for people who face a financial barrier to learning.
If this is you, please get in touch by emailing word@woodshopofrecycleddelights.com with your name and which workshop you would like to attend.
Everyone is welcome to our sessions, no matter what they can afford.
Suitable for ages 16+.
PPE provided. Enclosed footwear must be worn.
The GED is an outdoor space, so bring weather-appropriate clothing!
