Event description

Description

  • Dramatic changes have been taking place in the UK business and domestic scale renewable energy sector. Subsidies have ended for some renewables but remain strong for others whilst new measures have even been introduced. Innovations have brought down the cost of generating and storing energy, whilst many businesses are now changing to electric vehicles.

But what are the financial and practical considerations for businesses contemplating investing in renewable energy to lower their costs and carbon? And how are new models of finance making it easier for businesses to benefit?

This Eco-Innovation workshop will bring businesses, investors, renewable energy companies, low carbon policy makers and specialists together to uncover the latest opportunities in the market place.

Led by a team of renewable energy specialists, the event will challenge assumptions, clarify the subsidies available and seek solutions to your carbon and energy questions.

    Through this workshop, you will:

    • Gain a clearer understanding of the financial and technological changes taking place in renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles.
    • Learn about developments and innovations in the renewable energy marketplace.
    • Understand current and future investment challenges and opportunities, including subsidies.
    • Gain an overview of the functioning and appropriate application of renewable energy, battery storage and electric vehicles for your business.
    • Get an overview of current national and local low carbon / renewable energy policy
    • Learn how community investment in renewables can benefit business & community
    • Help the sector network and thereby progress the development of the low carbon economy in Cumbria.

Cost: This event is fully subsidised for eligible (see below) Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SME’s) in the county, as part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Eco-Innovation Cumbria programme by the University of Cumbria.
