About this event
Join The Association of Illustrators and industry expert Hannah Ray for a one-hour session looking at how illustrators are using Substack and Instagram to reach their goals for brand awareness, diversifying income, and community building.
Hannah will take us through key examples, approaches, and inspiring ideas, followed by an open AMA on any topic.
-> Come with: burning questions, whispered desires, half-baked ideas, and a positive attitude.
<- Leave with: a bucket full of ideas and examples, some thoughts on where to start, and most importantly, a dose of truth- serum which dispels the confusion and shines a torch on a path for you.
A recording will be sent to all ticket holders and will be available to watch for 14 days after the event. Please note that participants will benefit the most from attending live, where you'll have the opportunity to participate in the Q&A.
This session will be delivered by Hannah Ray.
Hannah Ray is a writer and managing editor based in west Cornwall, UK, with more than 17 years experience in creating world-class editorial programmes and storytelling for media, brands, artists, writers, and creatives.
Hannah trained as a journalist and worked in the Guardian newsroom helping readers connect to its content. She was hired as Instagram’s first international employee to work on the flagship editorial team, where she pioneered approaches to storytelling through words and pictures for huge global audiences. At Condé Nast, she was Head of Social and Storytelling across 25 Vogue Instagram accounts and was the creator of @vogue. Her latest fulltime job was Managing Editor at Substack, where she wrote, edited and managed the company’s own Substacks which were the most subscribed in the world.
She works 1:1 with individuals and teams on editorial storytelling for any passion or project. In 2013 she authored a Guardian Short book, CONNECTED, on the power of modern communities and writes fiction, poetry and short stories.
