Session 1: Business development skills and entrepreneurship

What to expect: During this fun and interactive session, we will look at some of the key skills you need to succeed in business development, including:

• Communication, networking and relationship building

• Project management and admin skills

• Problem-solving and thinking creatively

• Teamwork: how to succeed whether leading or following

We will also be hearing from some entrepreneurs who have built their own businesses in a range of different industries, with an opportunity to ask them questions on what’s worked well ( and not so well!) for them along the way.

Snippets from the entrepreneurs:

Hannah-Louise: Hannah has come from a theatrical family, and in 2017 she decided to take the plunge and start a part time makeup course to explore her creativity. After qualifying, Hannah can most often be found doing bridal makeup in London and Jersey, spooky makeovers for clients and friends at Halloween, or editorial looks backstage at London Fashion Week.

Fraser: Fraser is a consultant in the Energy & Utilities Sector, but his side hustle is property. He’s a Landlord owning three rental properties. His goal is to grow a portfolio of properties that will create a steady income and mean he will have some assets to rely on when getting older. Along the way, he learned a lot of valuable lessons around investing and he cannot wait to share these with you.

Suraj: Suraj is a Director of Fulfilment by Amazon (Amazon FBA) business. His key learnings are the willingness to commit time and patience to turn his venture into an entrepreneurial reality.

Session 2: Innovation 101

What to Expect: We will walk through an innovation framework in a fun and captivating way. This framework can be applied to any industry to think through any real world problem.

Questions and additional dialogue will be welcome throughout the session.

This session will be delivered by Alex Grady. Alex is based in Atlanta in the USA and is part of the innovation team at Chick-Fil-A. In his free time he is a storyteller, children's author and marathon runner.

Session 3: Dragons’ Den

You will be given a short exercise and work together in teams to create a pitch to put in front of our panel of Dragons! You’ll get feedback on content and presentation style, as well as suggestions on key takeaways that will help you build on your style and brand in future.
