Do I need access to PowerPoint for the lesson?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you need PowerPoint for the practical parts, but you can still join and take notes; or use other apps. Be aware that tools differ—Google Slides has fewer design features, while Keynote is a closer alternative to PowerPoint with more editing options. Some features and workflows may still vary.

Will the lesson cover how to design slides with PowerPoint?

Accepted Answer

This session will not focus on PowerPoint design tools in depth. Instead, we will cover key presentation features, including animating objects on slides and adding slide transitions. For a more detailed session on slide design, check my event page for the PowerPoint Design workshop.

Question 3

What should I consider if I have a Chromebook instead of a Windows or Mac device?

Accepted Answer

A Chromebook is an Android system, so you'll be using the online version of PowerPoint. You can still participate, but please note that while the core features are available, some design tools and some functionalities may be limited or arranged differently.

How do you deliver the session?

Accepted Answer

I deliver my online session using Zoom. You will gain access to the Zoom Meeting link with your booking.

Question 5

What else do I need for this session?

Accepted Answer

I recommend using an external mouse if you are a laptop user. Touchpads can be challenging for beginners when it comes to tasks like dragging and dropping, right-clicking, and using mouse and keyboard shortcuts together. An external mouse will provide better control.
