We are running a series of free to attend online web events throughout the year which include topics of interest with some content delivered by third party speakers from various internal and external agencies & stakeholders, e.g. Department of Work & Pensions (DWP), Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police (TVP), Shelter, CAB, Landlord Associations.
This first event is being run online (via Zoom) on 10th February 2022 will be by West Berkshire Council’s Housing team with guest speaker from the DWP:

• Gain an insight into how to support your tenants if they have a change of circumstances that impacts on rent payments – key through these challenging times of change

• Learn more about the housing sector through the eyes of ‘what does it mean to be homeless?’
• An opportunity to ask questions and share experiences that will truly build a strong landlord forum for the future

Programme:
4.30 - Introduction
4.40 - DWP & Q&A - DWP will be discussing how to make a universal credit claim, the process for managed payments, Third Party payments and sharing good practice.
5.00 - Homelessness & Q&A - Kenna Young. Kenna is the Housing Operations Manager at West Berkshire Council overseeing the homelessness team. Kenna will discuss the definition of homelessness, the types of cases the service are currently working with and the Private Rented Sector offer for landlords and tenants available via the Council.
5.20 - PPP Environmental Health’s Private Sector Housing Team (incl. future topics suggestions)
5.30 - Close
