COVID-19 INFORMATION

Further to the planned move into Stage 4 of the roadmap out of the national lockdown, the great news is it’s looking like the Summer School will be able to run as planned without bubbles or a restriction on numbers. We also expect to be able to perform in front of a live audience made up of you and your family on the last day with the easing of restrictions in place.

However, we have all become very used to having to have a Plan B over the past 16 months and whilst we hope not to have to use it here is ours…

With the Summer School happening before 16th August, when the rules on isolation for close contacts of positive cases will be removed for under 18s or fully vaccinated adults, there is a small chance that a positive case may be identified during the Summer School. Based on the new guidance expected to begin on 19th July, this will mean that NHS Test & Trace will work with the individual who has tested positive to identify close contacts and request that they isolate. If this happens and NHS Test & Trace identify a large number of Summer School students and/or staff, we will endeavour to reschedule any remaining days of the Summer School and the performance to later in the Summer Holidays. If your child is not able to attend any rescheduled dates, or should it not be possible for us to reschedule the dates for whatever reason, a partial refund will be offered or a credit towards our 2022 Summer School.

Having said this we will continue with our remaining COVID secure procedures in place which meet Government requirements and feel confident that we can continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for our young performers!

• Hand sanitisers and promoting good hand washing techniques

• Improved ventilation

• COVID-19 screening questions on arrival

• Government Guidance also recommends that secondary aged pupils continue to take part in the twice weekly lateral flow testing if accessing out of school settings such as our Summer School. We will also be promoting this and suggest that students take part in the scheme at least twice weekly, or more if you feel comfortable!

• Liaising with Public Health England and following advice as necessary.
