PR and social media for creative businesses
Mon 23 November 2015, 19:00 – 21:00 GMT
We know that PR and social media are some of the biggest problems for creatives, makers and artists. How do you get publicity for your work? Which is better - Twitter or Instagram? If you're constantly checking your social media feed how will you have time to do anything else?
So we're delighted to welcome local PR consultant Dee Byrne to our November Maker's Club to give her top tips on what you can do to publicise you and your work. Dee has more than 20 years’ experience in PR and communications for a diverse range of clients and brands, from large corporations such as Thomson Holidays and Nescafe to start-ups and small businesses in niche sectors. She was also the volunteer press officer for Brixton Windmill in 2013-14.
These days, social media is an important component of PR. So alongside Dee will be Tendai Chagweda, Social Media consultant from Quest4Success who works to empower people to market themselves effectively online using social media. Tendai will advise on how to get the best from your online promotion this Christmas.
Makerhood co-founder Kristina Glushkova will also share tips on online promotion, having just finished work on the world's biggest digital campaign!
And of course you will have the chance to network with other creative businesses, exchange ideas and views and catch up on the latest creative gossip! :)
