Event description

Description

PR Crisis Communications Workshop: how to create messages that satisfy the media and protect your client’s reputation.

We are very pleased to be able to offer a two-hour workshop with Ramona Slusarczyk Chart.PR, MCIPR, Lecturer in PR, Newcastle University, which will provide practical experience and guidance on writing media crisis responses for traditional and online media. You will take part in a crisis simulation which will require you to write effective crisis responses as a fictitious incident affecting your client or your organisation unfolds in real time.

All participants need to bring a laptop and be familiar with the use of Google Drive & Google Docs.

Who should attend?

The workshop is aimed at spokespeople and communications specialists responsible for the management of their client’s or organisation’s reputation, and who are likely to be involved in leading and managing communications at a time of a major incident.

Please note the workshop is an updated repetition from last year's crisis communications workshop, with a tweaked scenario.

Workshop Objectives:

• taking a position: strategies in response to crisis,

• drafting appropriate crisis messages with the emphasis on clarity, control, confidence, concern and competence,

• satisfying the media’s need for news while protecting your client’s reputation.
