Practical Art History will guide you through an exciting online lesson about the history of a prevalent artist, followed by a practical drawing lesson inspired by their art.

By the end of each session you will have new found knowledge on the work and life of a fabulous artist. You will also be equipped to create drawings that are inspired by new techniques to improve your own art and embed your understanding about the artist. Each week features a fun LIVE still life scene to study with reference to a select artist.

The dates of artists we learn to draw like are:

Sept 10th - Pieter Bruegel The Elder.

Sept 17th – Artemisia Gentileschi.

Sept 24th – William Blake.

Oct 1st – Piet Mondrian.

Oct 8th – Meret Oppenheim.

Oct 15th – Lubaina Himid.

Oct 22nd – Yinka Shonibare.

Oct 29th – Tracey Emin.

You can draw, paint and create with whatever materials you have at home. These online and accessible life drawing sessions are for all abilities. Join us for portfolio development, practice or fun! The sessions are also followed by an optional informal group art chat 8:30-9pm.
