Event description
This full day seminar is designed to answer the many questions practitioners have around safely supporting people with cancer

About this Event

Every year over 360 000 individuals are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. This number is set to rise with 1 in 2 people predicted to develop cancer in their lifetime.

Whether you’re newly qualified, hoping to specialise in cancer, or you just want to help a friend or loved one with cancer, it can be really difficult knowing where to start and how best to provide support. We hear you…

This full day seminar is designed to answer the many questions practitioners have around safely supporting people with cancer alongside conventional treatment modalities.

Our combined experience in Nutritional Therapy and Hospital Dietetics provides a unique insight into evidence based, holistic and collaborative cancer care.

You will learn

• Where to begin in supporting clients through their diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and long term care

• The importance of conducting a client led consultation, and how to do it!

• What nutritional support is currently being provided in the Hospital setting, where are the gaps in service, and how can you work collaboratively with your clients oncology team

• The pros and cons of popular anti-cancer dietary approaches

• How to construct a nutritional programme your client can adhere to, and what to include to boost immune function, improve digestive function and detoxification

• Practical tips to help manage the side effects of treatment

• What nutritional supplements we recommend and why

• What functional testing we use and why

You will leave feeling confident that you know where to begin in providing cancer nutrition support and how to do this safely and effectively.

A delicious plant-based lunch, refreshments and goody bags will be provided.
