This one day workshop has been designed to assist managers in Scouting to effectively undertake what some see as the more challenging aspects of their role. Whilst the situations used in the sessions are 'Group' focused, the day is open not just to GSLs and Assistant Group Scout Leaders, but to other volunteer managers, including District Commissioners, Deputy District Commissioners and District Explorer Scout Commissioners.
Whether you have a recent appointment or have been in the role for a good while, the day offers the opportunity to update yourself on current procedures, refresh your skills, share good practice and network with other volunteer managers.
(Newly appointed Group Scout Leaders are recommended to attend a GSL Essentials Day first.)
Our Practical Manager's Day covers the following key areas:
Develop your ability to manage change and support adults through any period of change.
Adult Recruitment and Induction
Focusing mainly on recruiting and using parent effectively.
Review and Retention
