Event description
This workshop offers the why, what, when, how and who of patient involvement in GP practice service change

About this Event

This PLI Event will be:

Delivered by the Consultation Institute in collaboration with the CCG Engagement and Equality team.

The session will offer a mix of direct learning and workshop sessions to help you understand what is required to make successful changes to your services and how involving your patients will improve the outcome.

We will also explore equality impact assessments and why they are essential to making better decisions that meet the needs of your patients.

In an increasingly changing NHS landscape, the way we provide services is inevitably changing. But did you know that all providers of NHS services have a legal duty to involve patients in decisions that affect the planning and delivery of their services and demonstrate how they have considered the impact on different communities?

The level of scrutiny of these changes is increasing and we are seeing more and more cases of legal challenges being made against providers and commissioners.

These legal challenges can be extremely costly and time consuming, even if they are not upheld.

The Consultation Institute are the leading experts in public consultation, advising and training public sector organisations to help them meet their legal duties around public involvement and equality.

Registration with refreshments from 12:30-13:00 hours

Session will run from 13:00 - 16:30 hours and will include a refreshment break
