About this event

What is it?

Our Practice Your Pitch season, powered by Techscaler, is focused on supporting startup founders as they get ready to present their ideas. Through a series of interactive online and in-person workshops, we'll be looking at different aspects of pitching and how a good pitch can change the journey of your startup. This special edition, Why No-One Gets Your Startup (Yet), and How to Fix It is brough to you by Founder and Strategic Growth expert Sid Kathirvel.

What can I expect?

Are you struggling to pitch your startup or explain why anyone should care about it? This hands-on workshop will provide clarity on why customers buy, what’s holding them back, and how to nail your positioning and messaging. You’ll learn:

  • What makes people buy/switch to your product.
  • Combating the hidden forces that stop people from switching to you.
  • How to position your product so it’s instantly clear and desirable.
  • How to craft messaging that grabs attention and makes people (and investors) want in.

Gain strategies, frameworks, and worksheets that you’ll use immediately. This is the stuff most founders figure out too late, so don’t miss this workshop.Highly recommended for early-stage founders, those struggling to articulate their value proposition, or anyone preparing for pitching, marketing, or go-to-market efforts.

Who else will be there?

You will be joined by other members of the Scottish tech ecosystem, along with members of the CodeBase team. The session will be led by Sid Kathirvel from Unlock Growth, who has over 24 years of experience in strategy, product and growth marketing. Sid has helped founders and teams (from early-stage startups to scaling SMEs) break through growth ceilings and unlock their next level. He strips away guesswork, sharpens positioning and crafts messaging that sticks. His blend of strategic leadership and executional rigour has earned him recognition as Marketing Mentor of the Year (2024).

Where and when is this taking place?

This session will take place from 1.30-4.30 on the 29th October 2025, and will be in the C-Suite of the ONE Tech Hub in Aberdeen.
