About this event

Praetor Workshop

Are you looking to level up your painting for your characters and centre pieces and characters for your chosen legion? Then come and join myself and Heresy Hammer for the Praetor Workshop.

Split over 2 days, the course will be hosted by Heresy Hammer located in the leafy town of Yateley between September 13th and 14th. We'll be approaching how to:

Plan your characters

Establishing light and volume

Getting the most out of your colour

Blending

Creating texture

True Metal Metallics

Kit list:

Wet Palette

A good selection of paints (black, white, core colous for your legion of choice)

Brushes of your choice

Painting Lamp (if possible)

A primed and assembled / sub assembled (at your discretion) Praetor of your choosing

We all know we're quite passionate about which legions are the best (it's clearly Emperors Children), so we're encourging you to bring a praetor of your choosing to paint for the day. Be it a legion specific Praetor, a generic one or even 3rd party, all Praetors are welcome.

Refunds cannot be offered on purchases for this event.

Frequently asked questions

What "level" of painter do I need to be to attend?

Any, noone should feel out of place joining and learning. Be it a beginner, intermediate or advanced painter there's always something to learn.

So I can bring whatever Praetor I want?

Yup, the class is about taking generic techniques which apply to any mini and applying them to a piece that actually means something to you. As opposed to doing something akin to a paint by numbers on a mini that doesn't excite you.

...What about Iron Warriors?

Not a problem, HOWEVER you'll likely not get to the actual metal until later in the session. I'd recommend bringing something which isn't `100% metal to get the most out of the other sections, and we can cover the specifics of making metals look good when appropriate.

Is there any accomodation near by?

Yes, there's a few BnB's around Yateley or larger hotels in nearby towns (at most a 15 min drive). For example the Premier Inn in Farnborough town centre, among others.

What about public transport links?

The nearest rail connection is Sandhurst (about 1.5miles away). There are bus routes available as well.

Is lunch incluced?

Not on this occasion, so bring a packed lunch of some sort.
