Event description
Learn to read the Tarot and develop your intuition. A 21 day, immersive journey into the language of change.

About this event

Tarot without superstition

The Tarot does not tell fortunes. If you strip away the superstition, the Tarot is a language that describes different states in the process of change. The power of the Tarot is essentially literacy. Where someone without the "power" to read, sees little more than a mess, a literate person finds Shakespeare.

Your body, and the right half of your brain, has been designed to read change, to pluck patterns out of "chaos". The Tarot is a structured, logical framework that gives your logical left brain a way to trust, interpret and communicate the non-verbal information from your right brain - your intuition.

A 3 hour, live introduction workshop, followed by 21 days of immersive exploration.

This introduction will help you:

  • See the big picture behind the cards, and get a sense of how they all fit together
  • Learn to recognise the events that the major cards represent
  • Trust your intuition as you read the cards
  • Pragmatic Tarot simplifies learning the Tarot by fitting all the cards into a single, interconnected story - rather than a mass of individual details. This means that there is no need to memorise the meanings of each card and allows you to dive into readings very quickly.

    Format

This workshop consists of a single, three hour online workshop, followed by 21 days of collaborative exploration on Telegram.

The Tarot is best learned with others. The first online session will introduce not just the concepts, but also your fellow travellers. After the initial call, the course moves to Telegram, where you will be able to your observations and learn from others, as we work through the major arcana, one at a time over the course of three weeks.

The workshop is recommended, but optional

The initial workshop will be recorded and made available to everyone on the course. If you would like to join, but cannot make the Saturday session, we will make alternative arrangements to ensure that you are introduced to your companions.

    Choose your depth of engagement

The Telegram based, online format allows you to immerse yourself at the level where you feel comfortable. Over the three weeks we'll share images, thoughts, poems and observations. You can dive right in and live the cards all day, or mute our conversations and pick them up when needed.

    The 21 day programme

The bulk of the course takes place over the three weeks following the workshop. In this period we will work through the major cards, one per day. Your role will be to observe your life, and the world around you, to seek out the ideas and feelings behind each card - and share them with your fellow explorers.

Each day will begin with a short intro to the card, and then some questions to help you seek the meaning of your card throughout the day. As the cards progress, they get a little more challenging, and we will add a few more materials to help you look a little deeper.

This process is by far the best way to get started. It gives you enough time to focus on each card, it provides you with multiple perspectives to speed up your learning - and helps to keep the new ideas in focus long enough for them to really sink in.

    What you will need

    • Zoom - To take part in our workshop.
    • Your own deck of cards - I recommend the Rider Waite deck if you are starting.
    • Telegram - The main portion of the class will take place on Telegram, over three weeks.

    About me

I've spent 20 years practicing tarot for clients and organisations around the world, learning the unique language of each of the tarot's cards and the exceptional insights they can provide.

I believe that learning to read and interpret the insights provided through tarot may be one of the most important things we can do to make sense of our changing world, and that Pragmatic Tarot can be used to effectively systematise, analyse and identify dynamic strategies for almost any kind of information.

I always try to wear a suit when I work with the cards. It gets me into the right headspace, but I am also very interested in ensuring that we de-mystify this amazing tool. The underlying system behind the Tarot is very practical, based in our everyday experience. All the complex spiritual metaphors and symbols emerge from the practical. You don't need all the complexity, you just need to see where it all comes from.

My mission is to share these learnings and to expand the Pragmatic Tarot community globally.

    Testimonials

"Thanks so much for setting up this course and all your hard work and incredible insights. It’s on another level amazing!" - Helen

"Having no reference to the spiritual or fortune-telling aspect of the Tarot made it even easier for me to learn, for I can only view the world from a scientific perspective.

With his deep understanding of the Tarot combined with the broad knowledge of numerology, astrology, Kabbala etc., Pete helps you dive deep into the meaning of the cards, and in turn yourself. I honestly can't recommend this workshop highly enough. " - Mori
