Pre- and Post-Assessment Workshops - Autism - Reading
Thu 13 October 2016, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
A series of three pre- and post-diagnosis workshops for parent/carers of children and young people who may have autism, or who have recently been diagnosed as autistic.
These free, two-hour workshops are open to all parents/carers who live in the West Berkshire, Reading or Wokingham council areas who:
Have a child who is on the waiting list to be assessed for autism OR
Have a child who has just been diagnosed as having an Autism Spectrum Condition AND
Have NOT previously attended a Time Out from Autism course with Parenting Special Children (PSC)
Parents/carers must attend the Introduction to Autism workshop first, and it is recommended that parents attend all three workshops in the series.
Each workshop will be led and delivered by Ruth Moyse (@mum2aspergirl), along with another experienced Parenting Practitioner from Parenting Special Children. Ruth is a Parenting Practitioner with PSC, teacher and researcher into the experiences of autistic girls. Ruth’s interest lies with the impact of hidden challenges on the lives of autistic children, and how they can be supported. Her work has been published in the EJSNE.
