Pre-hospital Birth: Showcase and Future Focus Event
Date and time
A ‘showcase and future focus’ event on pre-hospital birth
About this event
We are delighted to announce a ‘showcase and future focus’ event on pre-hospital birth, being held on 29th June 2022 at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol (9:30am-1:30pm).
The event will provide an opportunity to hear from researchers, clinicians and members of the public, and to get involved identifying research priorities for future work surrounding pre-hospital birth.
Presentations include those from Dr Laura Goodwin (REACH), Róisín McKeon-Carter (Neonatal Nurse Consultant, and Safety Champion Neonatal Services), James Yates (Advanced Paramedic – Neonatal Intensive Care Retrieval (NEST) Team), Helen McAdam (Senior Lecturer in Midwifery, Sunderland University), and members of the public. There will also be a round-table discussion on current and future work in this area, and an opportunity to input into the prioritisation of our future research in pre-hospital birth.
The event is FREE to register. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and reasonable travel expenses (up to £20**) will be reimbursed. Limited parking permits* are available on registration and there is on street parking around the campus. A detailed agenda will be shared closer to the event.
Everyone is welcome but the event will be of particular interest to:
- Emergency care providers (including ambulance staff, call-handlers, hospital staff)
- Maternity service providers of antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal care
