Pre-Register for the Imperial College Alumni event in Vienna “Sustainability in the 21st Century” on 10th October 2015!
The Imperial College Club of Germany e.V. are pleased to announce the next Alumni Conference in Vienna, Austria, on Saturday,10th October 2015.
Following our highly successful event in CERN last year, we are staying true to our ICCG motto “Sustainability in the 21st Century”.
This year we will be concentrating on 2 topics: Energy Sustainability and Research in Cancer Treatments.
“Oil is at 50$ per barrel, unconventional oil is on the increase, coal/lignite sources are growing again, only 11% of world marketed energy consumption is from renewable energy sources. Are we on the right path?”
We will be setting up a Panel Discussion in the morning where we invite you to actively participate together with OPEC, United Nations Sustainable Energy 4 All , British Embassy Energy and Climate Change Attaché and others in debating the topic.
Cancer Treatment Research:
During our visit to CERN last year, Dr. Manjit Dosanjh explained that 30% of all inhabitants will get cancer during their lifetime.
The United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency is helping countries use nuclear and radiation techniques to improve cancer treatment, and Imperial College is also looking at new innovative ways to tackle this disease.
We are inviting speakers from IAEA, Imperial College and possibly other institutions to talk about their Pioneering Advances in Medical treatments for Sustaining Human Health.
If you wish to join us, we urge you to pre-register as soon as possible only here on this page.
The Organisation Team is in the process of organising our Friday evening “Meet & Greet” in the glass Palmenhaus, our festive dinner on Saturday in a traditional Heuriger and a sight-seeing tour of Schloss Schoenbrunn on Sunday. We are also in the process of finding reasonable hotel accommodation near Vienna centre. We will keep you updated!
Looking forward to seeing you in Vienna.
