The first ever PRECIOUS conference, builds on the success of the PRECIOUS Awards, now in their 13th year. The theme of the conference is VISIBILITY – ‘How to stand tall, stand out and be seen’.
PRECIOUS Conference 2019 is dedicated to inspiring, mentoring and empowering women of colour at work and in business through talks, workshops and a panel discussion. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from the personal experiences of past award-winners, network & share best practice, and develop new skills to excel in the workplace and in business.
Our keynote speaker is Jessica Huie MBE, Entrepreneur & Author of ‘PURPOSE’. Hear about Jessica’s inspiring journey from teenage mother, to PR guru to successful entrepreneur as she shares how to live life according to your true purpose (and become truly VISIBLE as a result).
The programme and ticket price includes lunch and a choice of two interactive workshops where you’ll gain practical tips on a range of valuable topics designed to equip you with the vital skills of a visible leader.

Speaker: Collette Phillip. Theme – how to build a personal brand that captures brilliant, awesome you!
Collette started her professional life in advertising, working on household names such as Starburst, McDonald’s, Always and Clearasil.
She has spent over 16 years creating strategy and communication for a multitude of brands so she knows just how essential it is to build a strong brand for business and leadership success.
As she says "If you have an ambitious vision or want to create impact in the world, you need a strong purpose to drive everything you do." Working on these brands, gave Collette an insight into the power that a brand can have and a desire to use this power to make a difference in the world.
She launched Brand by Me which helps ambitious businesses and individuals build brilliant brands.
Brand by Me believes in the power of brands to achieve change and drive impact, whether you are an organisation, a company or one person trying to make a difference.

Davinia's background is in marketing and business development, she has 15 years experience within the investment management and professional services industries as well as an Executive MBA from Cass Business School.

Lisa is a qualified Counsellor and founder of Self-Central, the concept of which is to own and accept who you are, to be all that you are. Through different mediums, she invites you to self-explore and do the work required to become your best self.

Global Style Services is a personal styling service that enables women and men, to exude confidence through the way they look and impact wider audiences at professional, public or personal engagements.
Adonica has the uncanny ability to dress the ‘real you’. Her attention to detail and creative style sense has been honed over the last 10 years, where she has styled, dressed, shopped for and refreshed wardrobes across the world.
Adonica is also a regular presenter for Barnet TV covering key topics such as business development, fashion, networking and personal styling and co-hosts the ‘Making Money Moves’ podcast.
PUBLIC SPEAKING - how to speak up authentically, with confidence and stand out
Workshop Leader: Dorett Jones MA
Dorett trains, coaches and supports groups and individuals to develop their own unique voice and strengths in the diverse ways of public speaking. She has provided coaching to people from diverse sectors including voluntary community organisations, artists in the creative sector to industry leaders in financial and corporate settings.
She has also provided coaching and practical skills to people who have delivered TEDtalks.
Dorett lectures at a range of institutions across the country, and holds an MA in Culture Diaspora Ethnicity, and is an internationally published author and filmmaker.
THE 'VISIBLE' MINDSET - how to develop the mindset that fuels your impact and helps you be seen.
Workshop leader Dr Marcia Wilson, ASSOCIATE DEAN, Health, Sport and Bioscience at the University of East London.
Less than 0.5% of the senior managers in universities are Black women. This makes Marcia one of the few Black women leaders in higher education in the UK. She uses her platform to generate change within her institution. She is an activist who leads on the campaign for Race Equality for students and staff

Dr Sharleene Bibbings
Sharleene is leadership coach at www.vi-et-animo.com. She helps middle managers transform their frustration into forward momentum and have greater presence and impact at work. Her mission is to coach 1,000 amasing women. Outside of coaching, she is an active leader. She is a non-executive director for the Field Lane Foundation, is a member of the UN Women UK National Committee and a board member of a female-run social enterprise The Brick Box. She is also one of eight global advisors to the Yale School of Management Visiting Women’s Exchange Programme. This programme ensure BME women around the world are able to access world class leadership training. She is proud to be the 2017 Precious Leadership Award Winner.
