Precision Teaching is a highly effective research-based intervention that helps skills & knowledge to be learnt to fluency.
Have you heard of Precision Teaching but never really understood what it was?
Has Precision Teaching been recommended for your child or a child you work with but you were at a loss as to how to do it?
Are supporting a child who is learning to read but struggling with learning information to fluency for quick recall?
The session covers the principles of Precision Teaching and applies it to the learning of sight words to read. Strategies for teaching sight words are demonstrated.
This is a slightly shorter version of Precision Teaching with less theory and applications, designed to enable support staff to be released during the school day to attend.
We will:
• explain the reasons why this fantastic research-based intervention has impact
• clearly share with you how to set up a precision teaching intervention
• model using a mixture of screens to make a session come alive, helping you visualise what it could look like for a pupil
• empower you to be able to run with it immediately in your setting.
The session will have a focus on learning sight words to read but other applications will also be discussed.

Session Leader:
The session is led by Sarah Singleton. Sarah is a Level 7 (Dyslexia) Specialist Teacher with nearly 30 years of teaching experience. She was an advisory teacher in mainstream schools for 12 years and is now an independent consultant and trainer.

We do not issue refunds for missed events, but we will ensure you have access to the same event at a future date so long as let us know in advance of the event. We cannot offer access or move booking once the event is closed.
If the event does not take place due to a fault on our behalf, we will offer you the choice of rebooking free of charge or a refund.

If you let us know before the session, we can move your booking to another day as we run multiple sessions during the month. We cannot change your booking to a different session or give you access to another date once the event is finished, so please ensure you check your booking before confirming.
Our presenters are fully qualified in their respective areas and our presentations are reviewed regularly to ensure the content is current and in line with good practice. We offer attendance certificates but not accreditation as this would greatly increase the price of tickets.
