Please come and join Maternity Action to discuss ways to better support vulnerable migrant women during pregnancy and new motherhood. This half-day event is targeted at midwives, advisers, peer support workers, volunteers and others working with vulnerable migrant women.
This seminar will introduce the Vulnerable Migrant Women’s Network, a network to support those working with vulnerable migrant women during maternity. This is a joint project between Maternity Action and the Royal College of Midwives.
We will present early findings from our research into the impact of charging for NHS maternity care on health inequalities. The research is based on interviews with women, midwives and frontline workers from local voluntary organisations.
Find out about the Maternity Care Access Advice Service which provides legal advice to women affected by charging for NHS maternity care. Advice is also available to midwives, voluntary sector workers and others seeking information about charging.
There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion.
