About this event

ISM recommends that you do not complete your Year-End submissions until after attendance at our event.

The preparation and submission of the Pension Year-End presents challenges for Employers due to the infrequency of the task and remains part of your “Employer Obligations”

All NHS Employers must ensure that they are fully compliant with their Employer Obligations and it is important to note that the outsourcing of the payroll and/or the pension function does not discharge your legal obligations.

Ask yourself: "Am I confident that I am doing everything correctly?"

It is important to note that the submission of Year-End data directly influences the accrual of a range of Scheme Benefits including Retirement Benefits.

KEY FACTS

1. Changes implemented in October 2022 have increased the burden of payroll administration.

2. Changes implemented in October 2022 have significantly increased the burden of the administration of the NHS Pension Scheme.

Here are a selection of comments from delegates who have attended previous workshops delivered by ISM. It is important to note that these comments were shared by experienced Practice Managers and/or Pensions Administrators:

• I found the whole course really useful. I attended another pension training in the afternoon via a different provider, and felt that it was nowhere near as good as this morning’s session. The presenter was excellent and was very through with his explanations and just seemed so happy to help.

• Having never undertaken any pensions training before I found the session today informative and invaluable. Sessions like this would help anyone new to the responsibility of pensions. I wish I had been on something like this years ago!

• The presenter was really good at listening and understanding questions and answering. Very clear and concise

• An exceptionally experienced presenter that could provide answers to queries and provide information in an informed manner

• Fantastic! A very knowledgeable speaker who was very informative and helpful.

• Excellent workshop, helped me understand more about how pensions work

• Very thorough coverage and relevant to my job role.

• Really good expanation of topics

• I will be able to raise pension issues with the company who do our payroll on a more confident basis

. Pensions is a minefield and sitting on this webinar has helped demystify a lot of it

. It was a logical walk through of the pension process – a good update

. The course was set up so that someone with very little time could learn a lot in a short period.

• Everything as I have never had any involvement in the pension scheme before but am about to start learning and shadowing my colleague. Particularly the bits about part-time staff as majority of our staff are part-time

• I am new to the organisation and although I have worked in finance for many years, this is my first job in the NHS. So, this will help me to administer the pension scheme and check/understand how our payroll provider calculates pension contributions etc.
