Prepare for post Brexit employment and recruitment
Event Information
About this Event
Do you know what new employment and recruitment practices you’ll need after Brexit?
This webinar explores what employers and HR teams need to know in a post Brexit employment and recruitment world.
A typical example is the UK's new Points Based Immigration System. It’s vital that organisations have a clear understanding of an individual’s right to work in the UK, especially given increasing compliance, civil and criminal penalties and immigration changes following Brexit.
With the new Points Based Immigration System, the pool of employers who have or will need to become a licensed sponsor is likely to increase, given the UK’s departure from the EU.
This webinar, hosted by Rebecca Bridges, is designed for new and existing licensed sponsors and HR professionals. It offers expert guidance on employment and recruitment practices, procedures and best compliance in a post Brexit world.
This session will explore:
• How Brexit has changed the recruitment landscape – what is the EU Settlement Scheme and the new Points Based Immigration system from 1 January 2021 and how it applies to EU/EEA (excluding Irish) and Swiss citizens?
• What should employers be prepared for in 2021 and beyond
• What could your organisation be liable for if you get it wrong
• An introduction on how to check and verify a candidate or employee’s immigration status (i.e., how to complete a right to work check)
• How to become a licensed sponsor under the new system
From attending this session, you will have a better understanding to:
• Summarise the effects of Brexit from a UK employment/recruitment perspective
• Help you to check that your practices and procedures are compliant and identify where adjustments and further training may be required
• Decide which areas of your organisation may need further education and audit
• Reduce the risk of the organisation falling foul of the rules and law
Who is this session for?
While this webinar is aimed at a general business audience, we highly recommend for new and existing licensed sponsors and any named Key Personnel (Authorising Officer, Level 1 SMS user and Key Contact) and anyone working in HR who wants to get an introductory handle on employment and recruitment practices, procedures and best compliance following Brexit.
