PLEASE NOTE there are 5 sessions - from 7 - 9 pm on Thursdays 13 and 20 October, 3 and 10 November, and from 12 - 4 on Monday 24 October - you need to come to ALL sessions to get your certificate!
Would you like to learn more about looking after babies and younger children? You might already take care of little brothers or sisters, or the little ones of family or friends, but would like to feel more confident and know more about how to do it well - or even earn a bit of money!
These sessions will give you lots of information about first aid, safety for you and the children in your care, running your business, the law, child care, play, food, ages and stages, basic behaviour management, bedtimes and storytelling and lots more. The sessions will be really informal, lots of discussion, role play, practice, sharing ideas and fun - and testing food!
If you are over 13, do sign up, although we will talk about the law and babysitting, and would recommend that you should be at least 16 before taking on the responsibility of babysitting.
Admission strictly by ticket only. Please make sure that you can attend all of the sessions. We ask for a minumum donation of £3 per head per session, which helps us to run events like this for the benefit of children and young people in the Western Downland area.
