Lucy Stone CIOF and Stephen Trigg FCCA will lead the session on what is required to write an excellent bid and importantly they will cover how to articulate credible forward plans to meet with funders expectations. The session will cover the main questions and finance documents needed for your application and will include a mix of presentation, breakout groups and exercises.

Lucy will be providing guidance notes with an overview of the fund ahead of the session. To make the most of the time we have please look at these before the session and start sketching out your application.

Lucy Stone has 20 years’ experience in the charity sector, predominantly in the arts, culture, education and social isolation sectors in the South East. As a fundraiser in the last few years she has supported a diverse range of charities from a start-up with a £50,000 turnover to a 120 year old charity with £8 million turnover. Her specialisms are in Trust and Foundation fundraising (prospecting, bid writing and relationship management) and income diversification.

For the 2020 rounds of CRF Lucy brought together and led a team of 15 fundraisers to support 296 organisations to successfully apply to the Arts Council England Culture Recovery Fund raising £56.2 million. She worked with Music venue Trust, Association of Independent Festival, Production Services Association, The UK Live Music Group, Manchester City Council and Liverpool Sound City to support their memberships in applying for funding with webinars, guidance notes and bid reviews. For the bids the team reviewed the success rate was increased from 70% to 85%.

Steve Trigg is a CFO with a 20 year plus track-record of success and achievement in leading finance and resources functions. Experience in both SME entrepreneurial and previously in larger corporate businesses, operating both in the UK and Internationally. Steve worked alongside Lucy supporting Music Venue Trust members applying for the 2020 rounds of the Culture Recovery Fund. This work saw venues have a 90% success rate compared to 70% across the fund.
