Preparing for Commercial Litigation - Workshop & Competition
Event Information
About this Event
The University of Law ambassadors from Reading and Surrey are proud to host this introductory event to commercial litigation. In business facing law, solicitors are actively involved in preparing for trial and this webinar will talk you through the process of litigation, and make you think about your best chances of success at trial!
Hear from current trainees about their experience and why they enjoy commercial litigation. We are excited to introduce our guest speakers for the event as:
- Ted Powell - trainee at Irwin Mitchell, with experience in Corporate Law, Commercial Litigation, and Employment Law. Ted has an interest in business facing legal services and, in particular, insurance and sports disputes. Ted has also been featured in The Telegraph, The Estate Gazette, Lexology and Just Entrepreneurs.
- Ford Hunt - trainee at Clyde & Co, currently sitting in Commercial Litigation. Ford has completed vacation schemes with Kennedys, Jones Day, and Clyde & Co and has experience across the commercial sector and in Aviation Liability.
Activity - After hearing from our speakers about their experience in litigation, there will be an opportunity to apply what you have learnt and work through an introductory task in breakout rooms in small groups. Don't worry - you won't have to present to everyone! In order to be in with a chance of winning a prize from The Notier Club, you can email your work to the hosts.
If you would like to be in a breakout room with certain participants, please email the addresses below.
Q&A - There will then be an opportunity to ask Ted and Ford any questions you have on litigation, preparing for trial, and life as a trainee.
Book your place now and you will be emailed the Zoom link to the webinar closer to the event.
