About this event

Join us for our TeachMeet: "Preparing for Parents' Evening as an ECT."

We’ll be talking about all the key parts of parents' evening—how to get ready for it, how to plan your time with each parent, what to do if tricky questions come up, and how to follow up afterward.

We’ll share some simple strategies to help you feel more confident, including reviewing pupil data, having a clear structure for each meeting, and practising how you’ll communicate.

We’ll also look at what to do after the evening, like writing a quick summary of what was discussed and following up with parents if needed. This helps keep communication clear and shows you’re working together to support the child.

Finally, we’ll share some of our own experiences and tips on how to stay calm and keep things positive during what can sometimes feel like a daunting evening.
