This year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores reliability online. The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities online, but how do we separate fact from fiction?
Join us for lots of hints and tips for your Safer Internet Day (Tuesday 09 February 2021) activities in school.
Don’t miss out on what is set to be an informative day, presenting an opportunity to gain information that can support your school, build on your existing practices or give you a steer in the right direction for your online safety provision within the safeguarding agenda.
This event is suitable for Teaching and Learning colleagues, Senior Leaders, Technical staff and Support colleagues. Delegates are welcome from all education phases.
Keynote Speakers
We have some phenomenal keynote speakers lined up for this year including speakers from NSPCC and Counter Terrorism.

What you will learn?
The day will provide guidance and resources to use within your school and support you to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the online world. It will also be an opportunity to keep up-to-date with statutory guidance from the DfE and guidance produced by the UK Safer Internet Centre as well as the government regulations and other national benchmark expectations.

NSPCC - In Ctrl.
In Ctrl is a group work programme for children and young people that aims to help them keep safe and prevent online sexual abuse. It lasts up to 8 weeks and can be delivered 1-to-1 when a child or young person needs extra support.

PC Aviv Glaser – (Counter Terrorism)
Prevent Officers work to safeguard people from being drawn into terrorism. We consider vulnerabilities including Autism and Mental Health concerns as well as social isolation and identity issues and deal with toxic ideologies relating to anything from religion and politics to conspiracy theories and school shootings. 2020 has seen a rise in referrals relating to online radicalisation and the grooming of young people on digital platforms.
