Event description
Preparing for Trade: Customs, Operations and Documentation – A training course for Port Agents, Logistics and Operators

About this Event

Whilst it is unclear what will happen on 31st October, there is understandably much concern within our port agents, shipping, and logistics companies to prepare their staff for new systems of customs clearance and new documentation.

The Institute has secured some funding from the Department of Business, Energy & Industry Strategy (BEIS) to offer training to our members around the UK over the next few weeks. This funding was only recently secured, and all the training needs to be undertaken in October. However, we hope that even with this short notice period, you’ll be able to take advantage of this free-of-charge course for you and your staff.

Each course will run from 10am to 4pm and will cover;

• The maritime sectors

• Bills of lading

• Chartering and Charter Parties

• Single market concept

• WTO rules

• Economic & maritime implications

• Affected sectors

• Customs and safety implications

• Export and import implications

• Transitional procedures

Each day will start promptly at 1000 and aims to complete at 1600. The day contains a lot of information and we would like to start promptly - tea and coffee will be available from 0930 so please arrive early enough to allow for that prompt start.

Each training session will include refreshments and lunch. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please tell us what they are and which event you are attending at membership@ics.org.uk

We would encourage as many of you as possible to attend one of these events – they are free of charge to you – and we look forward to seeing you all in the coming days.
