About this event

Get ready to navigate the challenges and opportunities of your teen’s journey into adulthood with our face-to-face workshop, specially designed for parents and carers of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This practical session will offer guidance, information, and support on key areas such as education and training options post-16, employment pathways, independent living, preparing for adult services and mental capacity. You'll hear from experienced professionals, have the chance to ask questions, and connect with other parents facing similar transitions.

Join us to feel more confident and informed as you support your teen through this important stage of life.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get advice about my own child or YP during the workshop?

The workshop will provide general advice. Whilst there will be some opportunity to ask questions, information and advice relating to personal circumstances will need to be provided outside of the workshop. You can contact the service on 01706 769634 or by emailing rochdale.sendiass@barnardos.org.uk.

Can I bring younger children along?

Unfortunately not. We want to ensure that everyone has opportunity to listen and learn so we ask that you attend without younger children. We do have a virtual offer of the workshop for those of you that struggle with childcare.
