About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

We know that starting school is a huge event for children and parents and we want to share some practical skills and tips to make this transition as smooth as possible.

We have run this series of talks for many years now and 100% of parents would recommend them to another parent.

Parents who attended told us:

“The session was so useful, easy to understand, follow and funny”

“It made me realise that my child’s behaviour at the moment is normal”

“A very helpful talk. It’s given me things to consider over the summer”

“It gave me insight into understanding my child and what goes on in her brain”

Our Starting school talk looks at:

* What is normal emotional and physical development for your child at this age?

*What makes them all different?

*What can you do to help prepare them for school?

* Managing separation anxiety- looking at what helps and what doesn't help.

The talk is supported by a new and updated Starting Primary School resource pack which is available from our online shop www.standinginthegap.uk/shop.
