Dementia Pathfinders is pleased to invite colleagues and supporters to our annual presentation event, which will take place on 11th July 2018,

at Hallam Conference Centre, 44 Hallam Street, London W1W 6JJ

Morning event–10.30am for 11am start until 12.30pm

Afternoon event – 2pm – 5pm.

You are welcome to book either event or both

We will be hosting a playreading 'Fighting for Life' in the morning with Brian Daniels. The afternoon's programme will feature a number of short presentations and guest speakers.

The event is an opportunity for us to share information with our stakeholders and supporters about the projects we are delivering and the outcomes for the health and care workforce and for people with dementia and family carers.

We will also be hosting the Margaret Butterworth Awards 2018 recognising excellence in dementia care for care workers, health care assistants and activity organisers.

About the Play ‘Fighting For Life’:

We want our parents to live happily ever after. It doesn’t always happen that way. Social mobility and the pressures of modern life frequently mean that our elderly parents become more frail and dependent on outside support. When ill-health strikes – and in the case of ‘Fighting for Life’ – motor neurone disease for Jim and dementia for Joan – their middle aged children have the dilemma of how to access the best treatment and care – will their parents be forced to live separately after a 60 year marriage and how will their health issues be monitored? The play is inspired by the Findlay Report – a family case study on the handling of motor neurone disease by UK health and social services. ‘Whatever you do, don’t get this bloody awful disease’ – David Niven actor who developed motor neurone disease.’
