About this Event

Our LCGD Autumn Info Bursts

This autumn we're taking the opportunity to explore how we communicate with our clients through illustration and presentation techniques. We have 6 outstanding experts in illustration, exploring their work through hand drawing and CAD, they will talk about how they use these tools to create engaging and exciting presentations that win new work and inform client expectations.

Monday 25 November

Our second evening brings together three garden designers with backgrounds in art, illustration and design.

Duncan Cargill

Brought up on a farm on the North Norfolk coast Duncan trained as a fine artist at Chelsea College of Art and studied art history at Birkbeck. Following a successful career as creative director in London and New York he has followed his passion for Garden Design and re trained at the London College of Garden Design. He has a strong following on social media for his hand drawn illustrations that capture the essence of his garden designs. Duncan won the 2019 SGD Student Award - Domestic Category

Tom Massey

Although a relative newcomer to the industry, Tom’s work has already won him multiple industry awards and widespread recognition. Tom graduated from the London College of Garden Design in 2015 with and the ‘External Judge’s Prize’; an award given by RHS Gold Medal winning designer Jo Thompson, who praised his work for its scope, ambition and individual style. Tom won both Domestic and Commercial categories in the 2015 SGD Student Design Awards. He has designed show gardens at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and at RHS Chelsea Flower Show as well as the 2018 Singapore Garden Festival. His illustration is informed by his earlier career in animation and he teaches CAD to new designers at LCGD.

Jon Sims

After completing a Masters degree in Furniture Design, Jon moved into the world of interior architecture and has since developed a successful design practice working on wide-ranging projects with Emanuella Alladio. After graduating in garden design at LCGD he went on to win the SGD Student Award in 2012 and was shortlisted again in 2013 for both the Student Award and the Paper Landscape award.
