Learn to tell stories to give your presentations more impact.

About this event

Public speaking can be terrifying – but it doesn’t have to be. I help people to make an impact when addressing an audience, and to speak with authenticity and charisma.

In this workshop I’ll be teaching you how including stories in your presentation can make a massive impact, giving you practical advice and exercises to use moving forward.

In a professional environment, we can sometimes think that we need to remove all traces of ourselves, sticking to the facts and keeping conversation strictly ‘work’ related. But if the last year has taught us anything, it’s that the personal connection is what drives relationships, whether they be personal or business. Bringing in a personal touch is what makes us memorable, and makes us someone that others can trust – showing vulnerability can, conversely, be one of the strongest actions you can take.

When people give presentations, they can often revert to the idea that they just need to ‘stick to the facts’, and not become side tracked – the reality is though, that talking for any period of time about pure facts is a guaranteed way to lose people’s interest in what you’re saying, and also lose their interest in you.

If you’d like to learn how to include stories into your presentations, join me for this workshop. I will cover:

• Why storytelling is important, and share the neuroscience behind why we remember information in stories more than when just given the facts.

• What happens when we relate to a story, and how using this can make you memorable.

• How to identify what stories to tell

• How to identify what your audience wants to hear

• How to reconnect with your passion and transfer this to your audience

• How to structure a presentation to keep it dynamic and engaging

• Creating a narrative for your presentation to ensure it has a beginning, middle and end.

The workshop will be a mix of information and interactive elements – please come prepared to engage to ensure you get the most out of the session.

I'll also be holding a short Q+A session at the end in order to answer any questions.

The workshop will be delivered on Zoom - the link for the workshop will be sent once the ticket has been booked.

Please note that the workshops take place live – a recording will be made available but will not include the interactive elements.
