Overview
Whether you are presenting at internal meetings, briefings or public events to large or small groups of people, the techniques explored in this course will enable you to get your message across more effectively and confidently. Through a blend of online and workshop learning, you will discover the importance of effective communication skills and how to deliver clear and effective presentations in the Civil Service.
During the workshop you will have the opportunity to practise delivering a presentation. If you usually deliver virtual presentations, we recommend that you attend a virtual workshop. If your presentations are mostly face to face, we recommend that you attend an in-person workshop.
Learning outcomes
● increase your capability and confidence in communication skills to provide clear and effective communications in the Civil Service
● design and develop a presentation, tailoring the content to the needs of your audience
● explain with clarity your role as the presenter
● build a rapport with your audience
● confidently handle questions and challenges from your audience
● analyse and critique your presentation, taking feedback from others into account.

If in doubt discuss with your line manager. Please also note that you will be required to present to colleagues as part of this course.
