Presenting With Confidence - Part 1
Mon 30 January 2017, 18:00 – 19:30 GMT
We all have to present in public at some point in our career; be it a presentation for a study project, a key part of an interview process or a nerve-wracking business pitch, public speaking continues to crop up.
This 2-part session will take you through some simple steps when preparing for, and delivering a presentation, along with hands on presenting practice to boost your confidence and make sure you nail your next one.
Part 1: Monday 30th January
In this session we look at what makes a good, brilliant, bad and forgettable presentation. Often there’s not much time to impress your audience yet there’s so much to say, so how do you prepare effectively and ensure you deliver a memorable presentation for the right reasons?
- Key steps to take when preparing for a presentation
- The do’s and don’ts when it comes to public speaking
- How to engage your audience
- Tips and advice on overcoming that fear of presenting in public
Part 2: Monday 13th February
In Part 2 we put it all into practice, testing out the techniques learnt and going into more detail on body language, speech and your style of presenting. You’ll build your confidence further and approach your next presentation with a proactive, self-assured outlook.
- Getting up and getting noticed by your audience
- Different presentation styles
- Showing your confidence – even if you’re not
- Nailing your presentation
