Presidential Address: Innovating Icons – Eye-catching Structures
From an interest in notable building structures and their design and aesthetics around the World, Karen has made a selection that stand out amongst those she has visited and those known of, and even the lesser known. The engineering design and innovations behind their conception and construction is featured in this colourful presentation, which leads to describe personal involvement with 2 public buildings of note which fulfil the successful linkage of the historic to the modern at two iconic locations in Scotland, both of which involved their own major design and construction challenges. A conclusion on her "Tour overview", also looking to the future, will be presented.
