The course is based on best practice underpinned by the National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP)

The course is delivered by the Community Tissue Viability Team

The course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to identify patients at risk of pressure damage and notice any early signs of deterioration and act accordingly

The course will give you an understanding of the island wide pressure ulcer framework and how this relates to your role

What are the SMART learning outcomes for the course?

Specific- This course focuses on clinical skills relating to wound care and pressure ulcer prevention and management

Measurable- This course is delivered by the Community Tissue Viability Team based on the NWCSP

Achievable- During the session your knowledge and skills will be checked repeatedly to ensure they are imbedded.

Relevant- all aspects of the sessions will be relevant to HCAs in all clinical settings

Time-Bound- Reattendance every 3 years is advised to stay up to date with any changes to practice but will be dependent upon the individual’s competence and confidence
