We're planning another entertaining, informative and educational hour or so of talks, chat, resource sharing and project updates for folk who share an interest in digital making hosted by the Preston Raspberry Jam community.

We're a friendly bunch of diverse individuals who have been meeting in Preston every month since July 2012 to learn from each other, share news of exciting projects and discover the potential of Computing and the Raspberry Pi computer and share our passion for digital making and creativity.

Theme: 2004

You can write 20th April - as 20.04 or 20-04-2020. 2004 was a special year for some of our community. Can you remember what tech you were using in 2004? Do you still have any of it now? Were you using Computers in 2004?

Our audience typcially includes children, adults, families and teachers from a range of backgrounds, age and experience levels interested in workshops, demonstrations and discussion around the following topics: Raspberry Pi computers, Arduino, Minecraft, Micro:bits, Python, Scratch etc. We positively welcome all levels and all ages who would like to learn more about computers, software, programming or hardware development.

We are hosting our online events using Big Blue Button software hosted on our exa.foundation server. You can use any device with a browser, but are recommended to use one with a keyboard to interact in the chat. Programme:

• 3.00-3.10pm: Orientation - Welcome and housekeeping.
• 3.10-3.40pm: Workshop 1 - "EduBlocks Learn", from the founder Josh Lowe. Josh is the 16 year old brains behind EduBlocks. In this workshop he'll lead you through the EduBlocks software on a tutorial that can be followed at home.
• 3.40-4.10pm: Workshop 2 - "Teach & Learn Pac-Man from Scratch" with Alan O'Donohoe. Understand the learning potential of Scratch a little more or just have some fun building retro computer games.
• 4.10-4.30pm: Talk(s) - "I know what you did last 2004" - a look at the explosion of media piracy with Dr Martin Bateman.
• 4.30pm: End of programmed activities: Some members stay a while longer to chat and discuss.
