✨ Join our Glow Ride and thousands of riders across the UK as we light up the streets for Cycling UK’s #MyRideOurRight campaign. Together, we’ll shine a light on the need for safer streets in Preston for everyone. Let’s ride together after dark, showing that we should all feel safe cycling around our community, day and night.
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, everyone who cares about cycling safety is welcome to join the fun! Bring your bike, decorate it with as many lights as you can, and let's make a brilliant statement together. This is no ordinary bike ride - it's a glowing, rolling celebration for safer streets and a stronger cycling community. Kids in family groups are welcome as long as they can manage to cycle at a slow adult pace. Parents need to take responsibility for their children.
Meet at the starting point by 5.30PM where Go Velo mechanics will do quick bike checks and for a briefing. At 6.00PM we'll ride off together, lighting up some of Preston's most iconic spots, including University Square, the Harris Museum, Flag Market, Fishergate Hill and Avenham Park.
Preston Pedals and Go Velo are bringing experienced ride leaders and there will be marshalls along the route. Come and be a part of the movement for brighter, safer cycling for everyone. Let's pedal together and create a night to remember!
Please note
We'll be taking photos especially at stopping places so if you don't wnat to be in the photos please let one of the marshalls or ride leaders know.
By joining this Glow Ride you accept you're physically capable of the ride and are responsible for your own health. Marshalls will be allocated at designated places should you need to take a rest.
Parents/caregivers are responsible for their child(ren). ✨
