Prevent Training (safeguarding)
Overview
We are excited to announce a series of free Prevent Training sessions designed specifically for foster carers associated with Barnsley Council, Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, and City of Doncaster Council. This training aims to equip you with essential knowledge and skills to safeguard the children in your care.
Training Highlights:
- Guidance on Prevent risk assessments
- Understanding local referral pathways
- Insight into the national and local context
- Access to a range of curriculum resources supporting fundamental British values across all key stages
Why This Training is Important: Children can be exposed to various viewpoints and information sources, some of which may be radical or extreme. Radicalisation is a process that can lead individuals to support or engage in extremist ideologies and terrorism, posing a form of harm. Understanding extremism and radicalisation, including its various drivers such as international terrorist ideologies, right-wing extremism, and nationalist causes, is crucial for fostering safe environments.
The training will be delivered by Ruksana Khan, a Prevent Education Officer for Sheffield, who brings valuable expertise and insights to support you in this vital area.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge. We look forward to your participation!
If you need to cancel your attendance, please do so through your Eventbrite account or email us at fosteringtraining@sheffield.gov.uk.
