As part of Safeguarding Adults Week, MacIntyre will introduce their Everyone Everywhere initiative with a free online seminar.

Everyone Everywhere is about seeing ourselves and the people who draw on our support as contributors to our local neighbourhoods. We know that when helping others, participating and getting involved, we feel part of something wider and feel valued. Today we will be discussing how this can intrinsically prevent abuse.

Everyone Everywhere reminds us all of the part of our role that is about connecting outwardly. That as an organisation we support people to start and maintain relationships with others, not just with those paid to support them. But that we need to do this in a way that makes sense for ourselves and other people, there’s no blueprint for this! It’s about starting with what people are good at and care about and then looking around at what’s happening and connecting.

In this seminar, we will be thinking about and making the connection between the impact Everyone Everywhere has for people; being known by and knowing others, increased self-worth and belief, empowerment and confidence – and how this helps to prevent abuse.
