Preventing Bullying - everyone’s business
Event Information
Description
Understanding bullying and identifying what works in preventing such behaviours is important in bringing about effective change for children and young people. This course will help you to promote and establish safe, caring and supportive environments where bullying behaviours are unacceptable and establish a culture where bullying is not tolerated.
Bullying has been headline news for many years, and is widely recognised as an issue that has an impact on individual’s health and wellbeing. A recent survey from Ditch the Label suggests that 1-in-2 have experienced bullying, with 1-in-10 having been bullied within the past week.
Improving our understanding of bullying will help those who work with children and young people to bring about change. Everybody can make a difference in reducing the effect of bullying, but we must have a clear definition, understand how bullying works and who is involved, so we can put in place effective strategies to reduce incidents.
This course will help you identify, recognise and respond to bullying behaviours. Enabling participants to demonstrate an understanding of how to build inclusive practice. Using tools to assess, analyse and evaluate practice and examining a range of strategies available to help prevent and intervene effectively.
