Preventing Redicalisation and Extremism: An event for Local Safeguarding Officers (LSOs)
The Safeguarding Policy is the framework that the University uses for reporting concerns about children, vulnerable adults and radicalisation/extremism. Concerns may relate to students, staff or members of the public. In relation to radicalisation and extremism, the Policy is intended to support the University's compliance with the 'Prevent duty' under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. This is the duty to have due regard, when carrying out the University's functions, to the need to prevent individuals from being drawn into terrorism.
