Do you find you get injured when you try and get back into fitness or increase exercise? This talk will educate you to stop this happening!

About this Event

The Thornbury Clinic team are excited to be back doing another educational interactive talk to help you stay healthy and injury free.

Clinical Lead Guy Olding, Lead Physiotherapist Megan Miller-Zutshi and Sports Injury Specialist Ella Guest will be on hand to talk through the most common injuries that are seen within the first 6-8 weeks of somebody trying to get back into fitness. They will talk through the reasons why they occur and then have an interactive session where they will demonstrate the best exercises to prevent this from happening or resolve the issue if it has occurred

This session will cater for everyone; so if you are hard at training and want to prevent injury or you are looking to gently get back into exercise and want to remain injury free, then this is for you!

Topics that will be covered in this session are:

Staying Healthy when beginning exercise - How the body adapts to exercise and why injuries can sometimes occur.

A Pain in the Back - Why lower backs seem to be a problem when exercising and how to stop then hindering your exercise.

BREAK - For questions and well deserved drink and biscuits.

The Tendon conundrum - Why Achilles and Patella tendons can become sore and how to prevent this from happening.

Muscle Strains - Why pulling a muscle is so common when returning to exercise and how to condition your muscles to stop this happening.
