Event description

Description

Tickets are currently only available for Parade Groups. Please enter the access code given to you by your Group Organiser in order to allow you to register tickets.

This is the only official place to register for FREE to walk in the Parade with Pride Canterbury in 2019! The parade will be on Saturday, 15 June 2019, starting at The Friars (in front of The Marlowe Theatre) and passing through the Canterbury High Street.

Please read this event description carefully before registering, as it contains important information about how to participate in the parade. Failure to follow these instructions may result in refusal of entry. We recommend that you login to your Eventbrite account before registering tickets as this makes it much easier for you to correct any mistakes afterwards or to find out more details about the event.

Community Ticket or Group Ticket?

A ticket will only permit access to one area. Please register the correct one!

Community Ticket: For individuals, families, groups of friends, etc. Only permits access to the Community area, not the Parade Groups area. Register any free ticket labelled “Community”.

Parade Groups: For local businesses, organisations, societies, etc. You will have a Parade Group Organiser who will have registered in advance and have distributed an access code/link that you must enter for your tickets to appear. If you do not have this, please contact your group leader. For any other questions, please message us at our Facebook page. You must have registered for a free ticket labelled “Group” in order to access the Parade Groups area; a “Community” ticket will not give you access to the correct area.

Agreement when Registering / Code of Conduct

By registering for a ticket, you are agreeing to read and follow our Code of Conduct prior to entering the Parade. Please read the information on your ticket for details of how to arrive. We will send out further information in the days immediately prior to Pride Canterbury via your provided email. If you have any questions, please contact us with your ticket order number (details below in FAQs).

FAQs

Can I get tickets on behalf of my friends/family?

Yes! Just select how many tickets you need when registering. You'll then be asked the details of each person for whom you are getting a ticket. You must provide their correct name and email so that they will receive the required information, closer to the time of the event, to be admitted to the Parade.

Do I need tickets for young children? Are there ID or minimum age requirements?

People of all ages can join the Parade. We prefer that everyone has a ticket as it both helps us know how many people are in the Parade Staging Area and also makes it easier for us to plan in the future. However, if required, children under five may be permitted access without a ticket. All attendees under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+).

Identification is not required, but strongly advised, particularly if you look under 25.

Do I need to register to enter the Festival Site in the Dane John Gardens?

No, these tickets are only for the Parade. The Festival Site is also free to enter, but you do not need tickets. Info on our website at www.canterburypride.co.uk.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, we ask that you print out your ticket and bring it with you. Sometimes there are issues with our scanners when trying to scan the code on phones. There is a very short window for us to get all of your barcodes scanned and get you into the Parade, so printing your ticket will help us speed up the process. Thank you!

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No, your name must match your ticket. If you do not give the correct name on your ticket then you will be refused entry. Please ensure your tickets are correct, and update them if necessary (see below).

Can I update my registration information?

Yes! Last year we asked you to contact us if you needed to make corrections to your tickets. We’ve now made it easy for you to make changes yourselves. Eventbrite has provided an explanation for how to do this: How to update and edit your order information. If there are any difficulties, then please message us at our Facebook page.

How do I access the Parade Check-in area?

We will email you a week prior to Pride Canterbury with full details about how to access the check-in area – stay tuned! Please be aware that there is no parking on-site. Plan your journey – info is on our website at www.canterburypride.co.uk.

What can I bring into the event?

This will be explained in the Code of Conduct we mentioned earlier. Please be aware that there will be security searches for your safety so we ask that you read the Code of Conduct carefully before arriving to minimise delays.
