Our annual FREE LGBT sport taster day returns!

On July 1st we will be kicking off our Festival of Sport with our annual Pride in Sport taster day at Aston University, to promote, encourage and celebrate LGBT participation in sport. There will be sports groups from across the Midlands there to encourage you to try a new sport, activity, or hobby. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore new sport and fitness opportunities and to discover something new!

As ever we have added the optional competetive element to the afternoon, with a points based system on participatoin. The more sports you try, the more points you get! Winners will be anounced and awarded later in July.

Taster sessions are available on the day in the following sports:

Badminton - led by Midlands Out Badminton

Rugby - led by Birmingham Bulls RFC

Football - led by Aston Villa FC Foundation & Trans City FC (Trans specific Football Club)

Boxing - led by the Women's Boxing Club and Power Station Boxing

Thai Boxing - led by KStar Thai Boxing

Table Tennis - led by a qualified Table Tennis Coach

Golf - led by My Time Active

Other sports who you will be able to meet on the day:

Birmingham Blitz Dames Roller Derby Club

Birmingham LGBT and its partners Pride Sports will be bringing back a taster day of sport activities at Aston University as part of a much larger Festival of Sport throughout July 2017. For more information please check out our website here.


By signing up to the taster day on July 1st you confirm that you are over the age of 18. All participants will be required to fill out a Health Evaluation Form.


FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are lots of options for getting to the venue. If you're coming by public transport then check this handy Journey Planner for options. If you're coming by car then street parking is available at a small cost - you will need a debit / credit card to pay as it's not a cash system.

What age do I have to be?

We are inviting participants over the age of 18 only.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is suitable for playing indoor and outdoor sport.

What else should I bring?

A drink and some snacks might be useful to stay hydrated and energised throughout the afternoon.
